“Black is modest & arrogant at the same time. Black is lazy & easy, but mysterious. But above all, it says – I don’t bother you, you don’t bother me.” – Yohji Yamamoto
There are 2 kind’s of people- those who incorporate black into their wardrobe every now & then as a basic staple, and those who consider wearing all black to be a way of life. I think i definitely fall into the first category, even though I own a lot of black (much more than just basics lol) but every now & then I try to throw some different pieces of black together to create something new. Its easy to throw on when you don’t know what to wear 😉
Few reasons I love “black” to the core of my heart (or wardrobe :P) are:
» It matches with everything. With other colors or patterns, anything and everything!
»Black is always flattering on every body type or skin tone. I guess it has some magical powers lol
»Always feels dressy! For ever occasion or season or any time of the day…(Nodding your head..Right?)
»Easy to accessorize! With statement jewelry or heels or handbags.
»Not everyone can carry it elegantly! Wondering why is that a plus point? Well, people who wear black are considered more reliable, confident, honest, self-empowering and intriguing. Since I am an Architect by profession i totally agree to that! (Because Architects love black…i guess its in our personalities :/ ) and well everyone wants to be seen as different right?
»»Black will always be the new black! Period.
While black is highly in fashion all seasons and never goes out of style, wearing all black is a cool new trend but definitely requires innovation & smartness while going for the right way to wear it!
“Black can be worn in numerous ways. Its bold if worn with statement pieces. Its beautiful if worn with prints & patterns. Its edgy if worn with cold shoulders or bombers. Its feminine if worn as a little black dress. Its elegant & sophisticated if worn in sheer, lace or velvet details. And the best part is , that it is uber versatile, and you can make it look like whatever you want it to be! ” – Tanvi Mutneja (lol)
I usually wear a lot of black on a daily basis, but certainly never talked about if before, so today’s post is dedicated to my life long love for black ♥ –“I will stop wearing black when they invent a darker color”! Hilarious and so true. My look in this post is definitely an amalgamation of all the things black can be; bold, elegant, sophisticated, edgy & what not? I paired this beautiful black lace zipper crop top with black ripped jeans (oh so in fashion!) that i have been wanting to add to my wardrobe. Since its a fall season and it was a little chilly that day, I wore my black trench coat to compliment the look, making it more elegant. Spreading my #boho vibes wherever i go, I wore my recent fav hat with it and decided to go nude on heels to keep it subtle. I am not really a fan of glittery or uber bright colored heels so don’t expect me to wear any like that lol.
What defines this look is the different patterns & textures of a single color blended together to create an edgy & chic #allblack look. Since black is always flattering and definitely compliments my body type, but not only that, my new pair of ripped jeans from Romwe fashion clothing website does the same work! Its my first collaboration with Romwe to try out their awesome collection and i am totally loving what i have got. The jeans are comfy, super stretchy and so versatile.
“I fell in love with black; it contained all colors. It wasn’t a negation of colors! Black is the most aristocratic color of all….You can be quite, and it contains the whole thing”- Louise Nevelson
